What is a Home Inspection?

Getting a Home Inspection is one of the smartest things a person can do when buying or selling a home.  Period.

If you're buying, you need to know if your investment is going to be safe for you and your family.  For sellers, knowing what defects exist can save you tons of time, money, and headache by getting those problems identified ahead of time.

The Home Inspection covers all the major components of the home:  Site, Exterior, Basement/Foundation, Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, Electrical, Attic, Insulation, Ventilation, Doors, Windows, Roofs, and more...

Every home is different, so every home will receive a unique inspection.  This task requires an inspector that is not only licensed and certified, but one that is familiar with the homes and architecture of the area.

With FG Home Inspections, you're getting the best of both worlds...

Meet FG

Hi, I'm Frank.  If you don't know me, here's a little bit about me:

I got started in Home Inspections while I was working as a project manager for a successful plumbing company. Being involved in countless renovation and remodeling projects helped me to gain a lot of knowledge about many of the other trades.

I decided that I could put my expertise and attention to detail to even better use, and became a Home Inspector. As a MD licensed (#32834) and InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector (#16110212), I am held to the highest standards of practice in the industry, enabling me to give my clients the best Home Inspection possible.

One of the many ways I provide excellent value to my clients is by constantly honing my skills.  I earn more continuing education credits than required (by about double), and I've traveled across the country in pursuit of all kinds of seminars and conventions.

When I'm not inspecting, I'm also an award-winning freelance trumpeter.  I've performed several times with the Baltimore Symphony, and I've even appeared on House of Cards! Other performances of note include Carnegie Hall, St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, and many other famous locations!  In addition to music, I enjoy grilling year-round, playing golf poorly, and spending time with my lovely wife and 2 sons.

Home Improvement Consulting/Contractor Vetting

Don't go down the Home Improvement Spiral!

Is that wall load-bearing?  Is it possible to put the sink over there?  Do I need permits for this?  Over the course of countless projects, I learned what to look for (and what to avoid!) when starting, executing, and completing projects.

Selecting a contractor to work in your home can be a very daunting task.  Paying strangers hundreds of dollars an hour to rip into your walls is much easier to deal with if you know just a little bit about what's behind those walls.

Whether you’re just replacing an outlet, looking to decide between two repair estimates, or you’re just deciding to renovate your entire kitchen, simply reach out, and I'm sure I can help.

Smart Home Technology

Not Just a Fad!

Did you know that virtually every component of your home comes in a “smart” version?

That's right, thermostats, faucets, door locks, sump pumps, even toilets come with unique features to integrate into our lives for comfort and security. From the other side of the world, you can feed your pet, adjust your thermostat, and let the deliveryperson into the foyer to drop off a package!

Whether you’re just trying to get the darn device to connect so you can play some tunes, or you’re looking to create unique, customized effects throughout your home, it’s always "smart" to start with talking to someone who knows what direction to point you!
